Because of extremely hot weather and very poor water sources Jonathan has decided to FLIP-FLOP his hike. What this means in Appalachian Trail language is that you stop at a certain point and then jump to the northernmost end point of the trail which is Mt. Katahdin in Maine and begin to hike southwards.
Jonathan and Yolo stopped at High Point State Park, NJ (Mile 1327)(2123km), 852 miles (1363km) from Katahdin. Jonathan will begin his hike from Katahdin around August 19th after volunteering for 2 weeks at the National Association for the Deaf Young Leadership Camp (YLC) in Oregon. Jonathan is hoping to complete the AT in about 2 months.
Between now and YLC on August 6th they will relax and recharge their batteries at their home in Bethlehem, NH.
Watch here soon for Jonathan's plog when he will tell us more about the AT until now and about this big decision!!
